Those who have been watching Stargate SG-1’s series, especially the current Sci-Fi channel’s first run, have found the Ori, introduced last season, as a fascinating and dogmatic group. This segment will present some observations to the M5 reader to consider.

The Ori preach doctrines that are found in fundamentalist christianity and islam: the ‘one path’ religious concept with ‘convert or die’ as the only options. However, the Ori can back up their preaching with genuine “miracles” and intended “curses” for those who refuse to obey. The Ori’s followers are equally convinced of the ‘one path’ being the only path.

At the season end episode this past Friday, the Ori have built huge ships and are headed to (where else) Earth. The Ori ships are the most potent seen with a single main weapon port (similar to the Death Star from the Star Wars series) blast destroying large Jafa (and other) ships. The Ori are coming. We are your gods and can back it up, unlike the deity-wanna-be Goa’uld who were defeated in an earlier season. The Ori are coming.

On Stargate’s other show, Atlantis, the Wraith beings who dine on humans by absorbing their life forces (nice video imagery) have tricked Atlantis to reveal the location of (where else) Earth. They discovered in the first episode that Earth has an overabundance of humans ready for harvesting. The Wraith explained that devouring humans is how they survive. After all, all 3^rd density beings must eat to survive. If you look into the Wraith’s eyes, you will see they are reptilian. The Wraith, as of the season ender, now know the location of Earth. The Wraith will be coming.

First thing to consider: The Ori, all powerful gods who demand worship and obedience. The Ori = Orion Empire. Super technology that blows away the competition is well known to be the Orion Empire’s method of staying realistically unchallenged. Second thing to consider: The Wraith with reptilian eyes and the need to devour humans. The reptilians eat humans as a prime food source.

Put both together and you have the Orion Empire centered on the oldest race in our Galaxy Game, the reptilians, which have a major stake in Earth’s inhabitants’ origins. When they were here, they were the ‘gods’ that early Earthers worshipped. They demand this reverence from what they consider ‘lesser entities’ of this Galaxy Game. The Ori are indeed coming to harvest Earth.

This is one of the major Wild Cards that may be played during EndGame. M5 contains a number of segments on this potential event. I found it interesting that both Stargate shows have this theme as season-enders: they are coming. I expect in the SG-1 series that the return of Arthur and/or Merlin with the ‘magic disc’ will be what “saves” the Earth from the Ori, but that is fantasy. It is Graduation that will be what we need, and not just on an individual level, but also for the Planetary Spirit. Get your kneepads ready (especially males) – the Orion Empire is coming.
